Can Cole find the key that unlocks a dark mystery and free his family's legacy? In Cole Dust, Cole Sage inherits a house and small farm in Oklahoma. A dusty old trunk opens up the world of the grandfather Cole never knew. From pre-World War I America to the late fifties, Cole learns of a man tormented by alcohol, racism, the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression and an addiction to gambling. As he rebuilds the old farm, Cole reads of forty years of triumphs and disgrace and a family history he’s never known. Along the way, he discovers a love and pride in the man his parents tried to erase. The last volume of the George Sage’s journals unlocks a secret hidden away for fifty years that will change Cole Sage forever.

From the Author:
I was trying to read a detective/mystery a while back and wasstruck by the amount of vicious, over the top profanity in it. I rememberthinking, nobody talks like that, andI've been around my share of crusty characters. The main character was a pill-poppingdrunk. Really? Come on. In the first quarter of the book, he bedded a hooker, his ex-wife, and a woman he picked up in a bar.

That was when the character of Cole Sage came to me A collegeeducated, award-winning journalist, with a strong moral compass, sober, respectful of women, and who speaks like the professional he is.

The fact that trouble comes knocking on Cole's door is partof the fun. As if torn from the headlines, in each book Cole faces today's evilshead-on. The characters are realistic, the plots are plausible and the pagesseem to turn themselves.

Reading the Cole Sage series gives you a hero you can rootfor: a family of characters you want to follow, and bad guys who get what'scoming to them, without superpowers, drugs, booze, cheap graphic sex, or characterswith gutter mouths.

In otherwords The Cole Sage series gives you what you've been looking for: clean,character-driven mysteries, with thrills, chills, laughter, tears, and a reasonfor you to love them.

Welcome to theCole Sage family of readers.
