A collection of 12 powerful and moving short stories written in the style of simple fables. The wind threads itself through all the stories like a mythical lifeline, carrying nature’s desperate cry for action as it goes. Each touching fable deals with a different, but equally important, environmental or wildlife issue and highlights the need for change. Ranging from bear, rhino and whale hunting, to ocean pollution and farming pesticides, from deforestation and the use of Palm Oil, to animal cruelty. Eventually, all the characters come together at the unexpected end for The Final Meeting. Man with his greed and devastating political agenda is surprised to come face to face with the animals and nature itself, confronting the truth and an urgent need for action. The endangered last White Rhino and an influential president become the two spokesmen, symbolic of the struggle between both nature and man. After reading The Winds of Change, the door is left open and it is up to the reader to decide what to do. Asking you to consider, when you feel the wind on your face again, if it is indeed the wind you feel, or maybe a subtle reminder.

About the Author:
Sophie was born in rural Kent, England and spent most of her early life in the UK. Inspired by the creativity of her much-loved mother Mary, Sophie started writing at a young age and completed her first book at the age of 12. Apart from writing, her other passion lay in Italian and after achieving an Honours Degree in Italian literature at Royal Holloway College, London, she went on to live in Padua, Italy for 5 years. Many of her insights have come from her travels as she has also lived in New Zealand, Holland and Perth (WA), where she is still living now. In the past few years, she has combined her fascination for mankind with a deep, growing concern for what man is thoughtlessly doing to nature and the environment, both of which she treasures. This is the foundation for these short stories.
