About the Author:

Marlon Huynh is a Tampa native and lives in the Bay area. He has always had in an interest in art and has been drawing since he was young. Throughout his schooling, Marlon took various art classes including Computer Animation. In 2001, he graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts in Computer Animation from the Ringling College of Art and Design. After college, he started to dabble in painting and found that he enjoyed it more than computer animation. Marlon found that he liked the idea of creating a tactile, tangible piece of art that was not just an image on a monitor. He started to really get into painting in 2006 with the encouragement and guidance of a few close artistic friends. While trying to find his niche, Marlon created a variety of pieces that range from abstract to realism. Marlon has always been a sports fan and has followed the Tampa Bay Lightning since their inception. He has been described as a passionate fan that “bleeds Lightning blue.” Marlon began doing Lightning-themed art and along the way, he found his specialty of creating sports-related art. Recently, he have won a wakeboard art competition sponsored by Red Bull and also worked with the Tampa Bay Lightning on their Herd About Tampa Bay elephant. Most of Marlon's work is done in acrylic and has been displayed in several art shows in Tampa including a juried competition sponsored by the Lightning at Amalie Arena.
