When you first start studying law the terminology (wording) doctrines orprinciples (rules) can be overwhelming, this booklet was put together to help you to put the principles and terminology in plain English I am a registered member of the Teaching Council of Ireland and have over 7 years' experience in teaching law where I recognised the need for a beginners guide to law, having witnessed how the terminology and principles were hard work for some new readers of law.

Teresa is a civil rights advocate, and lecturer in law. In recent years, she has taught at a number of private colleges throughout Ireland, where she was a lecturer in law, specialising in CPA and ATI. In addition to her lecturing & advocacy experience, Teresa has worked as a private investigator where she specialized in miscarriage of justice and human rights issues. Teresa is a graduate of the University of Portsmouth. Although still lecturing, she currently devotes much of her time to freelance writing; public speaking; consulting with advocacy organisations committed to ending human rights violations; such as women's rights and miscarriage of justice and, most important, her family—the most challenging and rewarding job of all.
