About the Author:

Melanie Friend's prize-winning work has appeared in numerous publications including Granta, the Guardian, the Independent, and Marie Claire. Her photos of Kosovar Albanian refugees have been exhibited in the National Portrait Gallery in London, as well in galleries internationally. She lives in London.
