Seated at Charlotte Carter's kitchen table, Treasure Evans sipped her coffee, then pushed her glasses farther up on her nose. The Penny Saver, Ruby Prairie's weekly shopping rag, generally proved to be a mildly entertaining and informative read. This week it contained the usual-a listing of local garage sales, Rick's Grocery Store's weekly specials, assorted livestock for sale, and several offers of lucrative employment for those interested in rewarding careers stuffing envelopes. So quickly did she scan the ads, Treasure nearly missed a new one located in the bottom corner of page four. But the border design drawn to look like a cowboy's lariat rope caught her eye. She read the ad, then read it again. If that didn't beat all. A riding school in Ruby Prairie.
