The answer is - probably more than you could ever imagine! During thirty years as a ranger at national park sites from Montana to Arizona and Nevada to Virginia, I encountered literally thousands of people in an amazing - and sometimes bizarre - variety of situations.

I invited readers of my first book to submit their own funny outdoor miscues and a number of them responded.
