What do a cantankerous derelict and a respected politician have in common? Just one thing: Both are possessed by beings from the ''other side'' -- beings destined for a head-on collision to determine the fate of the country -- and the world.
Crow's Nest, as a thriller, provides a fast-paced and entertaining read, but there's more here than meets the eye. If you met a being from the continuum, what questions would you ask? What would you want to know about the Universe, about humankind's past, present, and future? There are no sacrosanct subjects in Crow's Nest as politics, religion, and spirituality -- the human condition -- get poked with a very sharp scalpel.
It's not often that a thriller takes us so far beyond action and plot, inviting the reader to explore innermost beliefs, fears, and aspirations. Crow's Nest will leave you satisfied, thoughtful -- and ready for more.

The next ten years were devoted to embracing all things not as usual: Life in Humboldt County was a mix of alternative lifestyle, design and construction of a ''Free School''; self-medication, driving log trucks, and thumbing rides across the country. It was neither grand nor glorious, but it was all immensely formative and fulfilling. With wife and daughter, he arrived in the ''clean and health'' (it's all relative, isn't it?) big city of Minneapolis in 1980, ready for the other fork in the road. He now owns a pay phone business; works part time at a local building center, and writes about good guys, bad guys, possibilities, and the choices facing each of us.
