About the Author:
Merl spent his youth in a rural farm community of Kansas. After doing a hitch in Europe with the United States Army, he went to night school, and began working in a factory, in Kansas. Merl always had a passion to explore the unknown, the forbidden, or where others feared to go. When an opportunity came to take men on fishing safaris to remote areas, he engaged the task with the curiosity and enthusiasm of a little boy! When the safaris came to an end, Merl engaged a guide to explore the little traveled areas of Mexico. Many journeys were made. The team made their way through jungles, small mountains, and swamps. Many stories were told to Merl by natives about lost civilizations, and places they were afraid to go! Some of the information in this book has been drawn from these tales. Only the names have all been changed to protect the innocent.
