About the Author:

Herb Appenzeller, a member of four sport Halls of Fame, has been a pioneer and leader in the field of sport law and risk management since the 1960s. Appenzeller has written or edited eighteen books on these topics and is recognized nationally for his work. A coach, professor, and administrator for forty years, he brings a unique and practical body of experience to the sport industry. He has been selected for local, state and national honors, the latest being the 2004 National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) Award for Outstanding Achievement.
