Having been thrust into a world of chaotic madness, I began writing this collection of poems as an escape from the daily insanity surrounding me, and writing poetry became my sole mode of expression while in this abyss. As Baudelaine so aptly expressed in Les Flueus, I have put all my heart, all my affection, all my religion, all my hatred into these verses. I too have felt the beauty, the humanity, the love needed to bring into verse universal to the heart, albeit through a vast surplus of hatred as my guiding light and driving force. That force has allowed me to pierce into a light as a final mode of survival, as all else around me lay dead as dark coals. Even as the soul swims lost within a vast abyss, still there remain morsels of a perfumed joy. Life allows itself to breathe eternal, no matter what eyes fall malicious upon it. These verses were brought from the dark into the light in just such a day. As for me, I have sung my songs; now it is for you to decide of its merit.
