Tim Fitzgerald's unusual 'rags to riches' trilogy concludes in this volume, finishing his three volume study of the social history of the working class of the San Francisco Bay Area and the lot of the working poor and disadvantaged throughout the Cold War era of the 20th Century. Reading like historical novels, Fitzgerald plies his craft of creative non-fiction deftly, using detailed description of poverty in America as he knew it. This work turns on an unexpected and clever climax as the author champions four crusades he led in the 90s. "Tim Fitzgerald has fought demons for years. His struggles reflect upon the problems with US mental health and legal systems which categorize sick people as criminals who are denied the medical care they deserve. Tim's struggle reflects one man's attempt to find meaning and redemption by self-education." - William Schwent, Songwriter and Poet "As Tim knows, I have never agreed with his frequent forays in electoral politics, and I think he greatly overstates the political significance of the California Green Party in this third volume of his memoirs. Despite this, and other tiresome expressions of self-importance, the integrity of his lifelong battle for dignity and justice shines through like a beacon. His emotional honesty is breathtaking. It is truly an important contribution to what he calls "a social history of the working class." - Sandy Perry, Outreach Minister, CHAM Deliverance Ministry "... Tim Fitzgerald and I worked fairly closely on our memoirs in Mammoth Lakes, but I couldn't tell... when Tim was often forcibly constrained by mental health services, [just] whose vested interests were at stake... Now, in [Pursuit of the Dragon Fly], Tim reveals the differences between personal problems and bureaucratic self interest." - Peter A. Berardo, PhD, Scientist and Author "Tim Fitzgerald was a 'late bloomer' whose contribution to the community did not [truly] begin to shine until he broke from established tradition in the 90s and thereafter..." - John Lindauer, Economist Chicago Publisher's website: www.SBPRA.com/TimothyKFitzgerald

From the Author:
This third volume of the Trilogy : "The Quest: Revolution, Revelation, Redemption," examines the 90s and the Post Cold War bonanza of a reborn Silicon Valley emerging from a Defense economy leading to a high tech explosion. Though still following  the impact this REVOLUTIONO had on Inner City Residents and the Green Dissent that was born on the West Coast prior to the Clinton Presidency and touching on subjects not always certain to be included in the Cold War duo of Volume One and Two.

The work - uncertain of its inclusion as part of the three volume series - details the unrest amongst Progressive dissent in the Bay Area and throughout the West Coast in this sequel. Now likewise an eye-witness account of several Bay Area GRASS ROOTS moments leading to the decision to pit Ralph Nader as the spokesperson of Green Dissent in the much disputed Presidential election of 2000 - though unlike his own book 'Crashing the Party" seen from the eyes of one of the leaders from the sidelines.

An expose' on the early history of the Green Party phenomena taking up some of the issues of Green Party Leader Media Benjamen in her  own work "I, Senator" -- a definitive account of Green issues now believed to be out of print.
About the Author:
BiographyTimothy K. Fitzgerald was one of the first born 'baby-boomers' arriving on Jan. 1946. Raised by Middle Class parents in a rural setting 10 miles outside of San Jose, California. His education (K-12) was in the Los Gatos Union schools, where he was an active leader in the Boy Scout program for 10 years, and competitive in Track and Cross Country as a youth.

He attended San Jose State University for his undergraduate degree - changing major objectives three times before graduating in Aug. 1971 in business and economics. Drawn to the prominent Civil Rights Movement on campus by radical spokespersons like Harry Edwards and Tommie Smith, he led the campus to adopt the principles of the Port Huron Statement as authored by Tom Hayden in 1962.

An emotional collapse following the Cambodia Invassion in South East Asia led to failure in traditional career employment, in the process leading to interest in Western Institutions and an intense effort for four more degrees (a BA in History, and two Masters in Social Science subjects, plus a recent success with a Masters in Philosophy).

He has taught periodically in community colleges in Central California in the last decade, and at times worked as a substitute teacher in selected high schools in the prior decade. In this process he became a scholar of Western Thought and ideas while lending his knowledge to the Green Party of California over the span of the 15 years.

He first wrote accounts of the Sixties in the late 70s, completing a Thesis archived with Universal Micro-films, Inc, and considered an authority on San Jose State Campus history in the 60s by scholars and faculty at the University.
