Beatriz Escalante estudió pedagogía en la unam y el doctorado en ciencias de la educación en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Ha recibido premios y becas de diversas instituciones.
Es autora de novelas, cuentos, antologías de cuento mexicano y estadounidense, además de libros de ortografía y redacción, de los cuales destacan El paraíso doméstico y otros cuentos para mujeres, Amor en aerosol, La escuela del amor y Júrame que te casaste virgen, que fue adaptada para emisión radiofónica. Es colaboradora de Blanco Móvil, El Nacional, El Sol de México, Excélsior, Los Universitarios, Plural, Pregonarte, Siempre! y Unomásuno. José Luis Morales estudió letras en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Es uno de los promotores de la literatura más importantes en México.
