About the Author:

JENNY SLATER is a cartographic editor, consultant and project manager with over twenty-five years' experience in the cartographic, geographic, and environmental fields. She is also a Fellow of the British Cartographic Society. KATRIN WIEHLE is a children's book illustrator and has spent most of her life living in Germany. Her book, Mein kleiner Wald, was given the award of most beautiful book by Stiftung Buchkunst in 2013. Katrin has since moved to Atlanta, USA, where she lives with her husband and two cats.

Illustrations are bright and cheerful whilst still being visually informative. The level of detail will make the book very appealing to a young and diverse audiance-with facts represented equalyy through imagery and text. Bursting with educational activities, this book would be a fantastic resource in geography, global citizenship and literacy lesson (formal texts as well as oppotunities for creative writting), and it makes a wonderfull reference in the home.
