He is the author of "The Sniper At War," "The Encyclopedia of Elite Forces in World War II," "Order of Battle: Western Allied Forces of WWII," and "The Italian Campaign in World War II."

"... details the development stories of all these Colt weapons, including technical details It is split into an Introduction with then 4 main chapters, on Percussion Revolvers 1830-1905: Twentieth Century Revolvers: The M1911 and Semiautomatic Pistols: Machine Guns, Rifles and Assault Rifles, and all rounded off with a Glossary and Index to help you find something specific...well illustrated throughout, with photos of the real things, of them in use and some Hollywood images as well. Various Colts have been made famous in the hands of Bonnie Parker (a Detective Special) in the crime wave she undertook with Clyde Barrow, with Steve McQueen in Bullitt (Colt Diamondback), Cathy Bates in the film 'Misery' (Colt D Frame revolver), a Colt Python owned by Elvis Presley and a Colt Cobra used by Jack Ruby to shoot Lee Harvey Oswald. The Colt story is an interesting one to read, partly perhaps because even after 180 years it is has not yet ended so there remains an untold story to come. In the meantime, this provides an excellent guide for a collector or indeed anyone interested in one of the most famous makes of firearm that will ever be known.
