Today's golden hordes, or those on their 'blue' cruises, search out an 'unspoilt' vision of this ancient world to renew their inner fire and sense of self. But the poet shrewdly observes that nothing remains static in the narrative of landscape, or in our own lives.

About the Author:

Alan Mountford was born in Birmingham and educated at Birmingham and Edinburgh universities. After years spent teaching English in Turkey, Ethiopia and Burma, he joined the British Council and served in Iran, Thailand and Turkey. His wife is Turkish. They divide their time between London, San Diego and Akyaka, south-west Turkey.
