Two reasons why – the gory details and the way I tell it. Their need to listen comes of morbid curiosity, the same kind that makes people watch blood-and-guts crime shows. Then there’s my body language, tone, and the passion in my voice which I’ve tried to replicate in my writing. My Canadian club football team daring to venture into the U.S. to compete on the gridiron – a challenge I call “HRT – hell replacement therapy.” Fourth and hell was a face-to-face showdown. No disguises, no masks, no secret weapons. No one huddled on the sideline. No one huddled on the field. Both sides knew what to expect. No surprises, no guess-work, no mind games. Calling the plays were formalities. All that mattered was running the play to see what would pass. Someone would execute; someone would be executed.

About the Author:

In 2010, I left teaching to make the literary transition to motivational writer. My first book, Soul of a Lifter, was published in 2011. Since then, I’ve added several books. “ “Blunt Talk” is the name of a series I’m writing dealing with everything from fat loss to interrogation. Soul of an Entrepreneur is a 3-part series meant to enlighten business owners – current and potential. In the series, 4th and Hell, I tell “David vs Goliath” tales about my Canadian club football team playing in the United States. When my first granddaughter was born, I wrote, Beauty of a Dream and last year, “Mondo piu Bello” to commemorate the birth of her cousin. In 2013, I wrote “True Self” to mark the birth of my grandson. March 2014 will see the release of the first in my series, “Happy Kids Books,” which was inspired by my grandchildren; it’s called Be Fit, Don’t Quit. I am motivated in my writing by my belief that we all have a potential soul of a lifter. We are called to lift for life. We can lift ourselves. We can lift others.
