About the Author:
Peter E. Randall has been a photographer, publisher of over 400 titles, and the editor of New Hampshire Profiles magazine. He has made personal photography trips to Zambia, Togo, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Ghana, Spain, Japan, and Guatemala. His most recent book, the fourteenth, is New Hampshire Then and Now, a collection of eighty historical photographs matched with his contemporary images. He is the photo editor of this title.
Gary Samson’s work is included in the permanent collections of many art galleries, museums, and private collections. He carried out photography and filmmaking assignments in Peru, Ireland, Labrador, Belize, Guatemala, and the White House. Gary is the Chair of the Photography Department at the NH Institute of Art in Manchester, NH.
Nancy Grace Horton’s work has appeared in The Boston Globe, Yankee magazine, and Rolling Stone. Her workshop, Learning to See, brings senior citizens and teens together, using photography as a tool to learn, experiment, and collaborate together.
Tim Gaudreau has received awards from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts. He has photographed in India, Laos, and Brazil, and had commissions to create public art.
Barbara Bickford has studied at the Maine Photographic Workshop and the Harvard Extension. While traveling and teaching in Southeast Asia, she collected photographs for numerous exhibitions on Vietnam, Cambodia, and Burma.
Charter Weeks’ work has appeared in photography annuals, national magazines, literary journals, and commercial publications, as well as in museums and galleries throughout the country.
Abena P. A. Busia is Associate Professor, Department of Literatures in English, and Women’s and Gender Studies, at Rutgers. She is co-editor of Theorizing Black Feminisms: The Visionary Pragmatism of Black Women. She is coordinating Writing Africa, a multi-volume, continent wide publishing project.
