This is a true story about UFO abductions, specifically about the extraterrestrial encounters of one man and his involvement in one of the most incredible multiple-witness UFO encounters of all times. Because of the controversial nature of this subject, every effort has been made to verify the events recounted in this book. All conversations were reconstructed using transcripts from extensive interviews with the witnesses involved. Some of the names of the witnesses have been changed to protect their privacy. All pseudonyms are indicated as such.

Introduction

In October 1999, I was approached by a gentleman who claimed to be a UFO abductee and wanted to write a book. Because I had written several books about UFOs, he wanted to know if I would be interested in writing his life story.
      I asked him what I would ask anyone who claimed to be a UFO abductee. What exactly happened to you?
      Mike Evans is a middle-aged white male with a slightly stocky build and sandy brown hair. As he began to tell me his story, I was struck by his demeanor -- a curious mixture of shyness and caution, kindness and leeriness. In other words, he fit the typical personality profile I had seen in other UFO abductees. As he continued to recount his experiences, they also seemed typical. He described being taken onboard a craft, having his clothes removed, being examined -- many of the typical procedures I have heard nearly a hundred times from countless other people.
      It was quickly obvious to me that Mike had been abducted by aliens. He fit the profile in every way. And yet, with Mike, the aliens had covered their tracks very well. As with most abductees, he was left with virtually no conscious memory of his experiences. Much of what he recalled about his encounters had been under hypnotic regression. And like most abductees, he discovered that he had been having experiences his entire life and didn't know it. I had heard this before.
      My initial impression was that Mike's story was pretty much standard in the field. Most, though not all, of the details he told me had been reported numerous times by countless other abductees. At first it seemed that there was little about his experiences that were truly unique.
      And then he told me about his experience in Coronado, California on March 15, 1994. In this experience, he was visited in his hotel room by several gray-type aliens. What makes this experience unusual, however, is that there were several additional witnesses.
      Probably eighty percent of UFO abductions happen in a total vacuum; there is only one witness and no physical evidence whatsoever. The remaining fifteen percent of abduction cases involve two witnesses, but again, there is usually no physical evidence. A very small minority of cases are mass abductions, involving three or more witnesses. The Allagash case (Fowler), the Brooklyn Bridge case (Hopkins) and the Houston, Texas case (Sims) are the exceptions to the rule, as they all involve multiple witnesses. Still, the physical evidence remains sparse.
      The Coronado case of March 14, 1994, involves at least six adult witnesses, possibly more. These types of multiple cases are extremely rare, so, with this information, I knew instantly that this case was important and profound.
      Then Mike showed me the photographs. Dozens of full color photos that showed all kinds of scars, needle punctures, bruises, scoop marks -- all of which appeared following his abduction experiences. This, I knew, was also rare.
      As I interviewed the other witnesses, it became clear that this was a case of incredible complexity. Each of them had a long history of abductions. Further impressive physical evidence surfaced when one of the primary witnesses elected to undergo surgery to have a suspected implant removed. The surgery, performed by Dr. Roger Leir DPM was a resounding success, and analysis of the implant has revealed many unusual and unique properties.
      This case, I now realized, was not only unique, it was hugely significant. Never has any case I've investigated involved so many witnesses and so much physical evidence.
      As Mike talked, I was impressed not only with his sincerity, but his fervor to get the message out. Like most abductees, Mike admits that he is obsessed with getting his story publicized. Nearly every abductee I have met has felt this impulse. Mike, however, seemed near the top of the scale. He wanted his story told, and the sooner the better.
      My first step was to try and convince Mike to write the book himself. It's his story, I reasoned, he should tell it. Like most abductees, Mike is something of an over-achiever. He has multiple degrees (he is a registered nurse and has a bachelor of arts in psychology and an associates degree in anthropology) and yet, he felt that he was too close to his story and needed someone who could provide objectivity. He had read my books and after hearing me lecture about UFOs, decided to ask.
      And so the idea for this book was born. I had studied this subject intensively for more than fifteen years. In that time, I have interviewed scores of abductees. Again the story Mike told me was very familiar.
      As I listened to him tell his story, I felt some compassion -- his experiences were not particularly positive. In some ways, they were downright terrifying. I mean, imagine being laid out naked on a cold table while a Praying Mantis-looking creature hovered over you and removed sperm with a bizarre-looking instrument. Listening to the hypnosis tapes were, at times, harrowing. And yet, there was also some awe -- I mean, to have actual contact with beings from another realm. This was truly incredible.
      This book is the story of Mike Evan's contact with extraterrestrials. It is also the story of one of the most important and groundbreaking cases of multiple-witness abductions on record. Mike and the other witnesses all continue to have experiences. All have considerable information about the aliens and their agenda on this planet.
