About the Author:

Alice A. Lieberman is Chancellor s Club Teaching Professor of Social Welfare at the University of Kansas. She is the author or editor of numerous books, including The Social WorkOut Book; Social Work Practice with a Difference: Stories, Essays, Cases, and Commentaries (co-edited with Cheryl Lester); and the Social Work in a New Century series. She has also been co-principal investigator on several federal initiatives, funded by the Administration for Children and Families.
