From the Author:
This book is about more than just telling my story. When I realized that I had repressed memories from childhood, my world turned upside down; I felt terrified and alone. I consumed the books I could find that related to my situation, but I never found a first-person account of the process--not only of recovering repressed memories, but of the intensive healing process along the way. The thing that inspired me to write was knowing how helpful that would have been for me. I hope that this book will help other survivors--of all kinds--on their journeys toward healing.
From the Back Cover:
Imagine you had razor-cut scars ever since you could remember, but didn't know how they got there.

Imagine you lived in fear of your father, your grandfather, and your stepfather, but didn't know why.

Imagine the one person you trusted more than anyone, your mother, knew why but hid the truth from you--because if you knew, you'd fear her too.

Sometimes what’s real is so horrific you have to forget just to survive.

Surviving Babylon is the riveting account of Garson's search for the truth through a maze of lies and deceit. It documents her shocking experience with--and struggle to accept--repressed memories of extreme sexual abuse and the devastation it wreaked on her life.

Her courage and determination to put the puzzle pieces of a shattered life back together lends the possibility of hope for healing to survivors of all kinds.

Babylon is a gritty, haunting testimony of the courage, strength, and resiliency of the human spirit.
