About the Author:
A graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, Gale completed her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1989. As an orthopaedic physiotherapist, she has spent the past 20 years focusing on assessment and treatment of orthopaedic conditions including motor vehicle injuries, neck and back sprains and strains, post-surgical cases, TMJ dysfunction, headaches, sports injuries, and chronic pain states. Gale's interest lies in a holistic, hands-on approach to the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic conditions.Gale's post-graduate training has included a myriad of physical therapy-related courses from such outstanding therapists as Diane Lee, Earl Pettman, Jim Meadows, David Butler, Susan Massetii, Rex Lauren, and Lorimer Mosley. She began studying alternative approaches to assessment and treatment in 1993, when she began to feel that something was barring the way to optimal biomechanical recovery in many cases. Subsequent courses, through the world-renowned Upledger Institute, introduced her to craniosacral therapy, visceral release, myofascial release, and energy techniques. The integration of these techniques, into her conventional practice, has allowed Gale to assist her clients in achieving a higher level of biomechanical function and a greater quality of life.Gale is currently the owner of GA Physiotherapy Services in Grande Prairie, Alberta where she operates the GPRC Physiotherapy Clinic. Gale has provided local inservices in the areas of ergonomics, stretching, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, postural evaluation, and chronic pain management.
