Though I do not consider myself a radical or even a political person, I am observant and over my lifetime have become more and more disillusioned with the realities of our government.  Though I love this country,  We the People are no longer represented.   I began to question what it would take to change the tide, to return this country to the tenets we originally believed in before self-interest groups muddied the political scene.  The answer to those questions became this novel.
The Riverton Project is not about some distant future as much as it is predicting tomorrow's headlines.  The dream that was once America has become its own nightmare.  Internationally, our image has moved from protector to thug. Internally, our economy is bankrupt, and violence, or the fear of it, rules literally every decision we make. Under corrupt government officials, the police are pawns and our legal systems are worse than useless.  And every citizen knows it.  This country is only weeks away from complete collapse, or open rebellion.
The President, in this novel, in a desperate attempt to avert disaster, believes the Riverton Project to be America's only chance for survival,  but it requires sacrifices no one is willing to make.  So he doesn't give them that option  and the Riverton Project begins.  This is the story of the men and women who are forced to live in the newly created country of Riverton.
