Some of the properties relevant to the design were considered as a function of moisture content. Five moisture level were considered from 5.85% - 25.85% d.b. These properties are size, 1000 seed mass, bulk and kernel density, porosity, angle of repose, coefficient of friction, acid value, peroxide value, specific gravity, saponification value, rupture force, deformation, deformation ratio. Some of these parameters required for the design are taken into consideration in the design of the jatropha seed oil extracting machine.
