Today Spirulina is so popular worldwide due to unmatched valuable chemical composition, specially high protein contents and antioxidative properties. This book deals with mass cultivation techniques of Spirulina, medicinal and health aspects. Through this book we wants to introduce self developed techniques for successful cultivation of Spirulina species throughout the year. We propose a cheap nutrient medium for Spirulina cultivation. Biochemical analysis of cellular metabolites of Spirulina, cultured under the climatic conditions of Agra was done. This unique plant is being used as food supplement as well as using in the treatment of various degenerative diseases like diabetes etc.

About the Author:
Dr. Santendra Kumar Soni is working on Cyanobacterium-Spirulina and his main subject is phycology. He is Assistant professor in Botany Department, DEI, Dayalbagh, Agra. Prof. V.P. Bhatnagar is Ex Dean, Faculty of Science and Ex head, Botany Department. His field of interest is Plant taxonomy and Ecology.
