About the Author:
Joaquín Salvador Lavado, Quino, nació en Mendoza, Argentina, en 1932. Descubrió su vocación a la temprana edad de 3 años de la mano de su tío, también dibujante. Después de acabar la educación básica, ingresó en la Escuela de Bellas Artes de Mendoza. Cansado de pintar ánforas, decide que quiere ser dibujante de historietas y humor. En 1963 aparece su primer libro de humor Mundo Quino. Un año más tarde hace su debut uno de sus personajes (y tiras) más célebres Mafalda, en la revista Leoplán. Sus libros de humor se han publicado en varios idiomas y diversos países.
