Pour répondre à cette problématique, plusieurs orientations peuvent être envisagées. Une possibilité est de revêtir les outils de films minces afin de figer le plus longtemps possible la géométrie tout lui apportant de nouvelles propriétés. Cependant, afin de garantir une grande efficacité du dépôt pendant les opérations de coupe, il est primordial que le revêtement possède un excellent degré d'adhérence avec le substrat. Ce travail s'est donc orienté vers l'étude d'un nouveau procédé de dépôt sous vide en phase vapeur qu'est l'HIPIMS (HIgh Power Impulse Magnetron Sputtering ) afin de le comprendre et de le maîtriser pour synthétiser des films denses de TiN, AlN et (Al,Ti)N mais surtout d'améliorer leur adhérence.

Diplômé en 2009, Dr Amélie Guillaumot a travaillé comme enseignant à l'université de Technologie de Belfort-Montbéliard (France), et comme chercheur au laboratoire LERMPS. Ses activités de recherche sont principalement orientées vers le développement de revêtements durs par pulvérisation cathodique magnétron à haute puissance pulsée (HIPIMS).
