Imagine if someone had done all your online destination research for you and presented it on paper for much faster and deeper review of your options. No zooming in and out, no multiple links to click on. That is what we have done. We've also walked or driven down almost every street on our map to see what is actually there. As we have been doing since 1980.

Nancy Chandler's Map of Chiang Mai is the most content rich guide to the northern Thai cultural city, designed for visitors and expatriates with unique listings you would be unlikely to find online.

Personalize your stay in the city by adding a craft workshop or farming experience, attending a lecture, or taking a few Thai boxing classes. Popular cooking and massage courses are also included. If into art films, schedule an evening at one of the regular indie cinema nights. Pub crawls are suggested for those so inclined, cool rooftop bars too, and high end dining and drinking for those eager to splurge on something special. For digital nomads, we've added co-working spaces. For those with children, more family-friendly fun options. For those concerned about ethical animal tourism, we've outlined key things to consider before booking a day trip to an elephant sanctuary. Foodies will love the wide range of options now available in Chiang Mai (searching online for the most popular ones won't give you the same overview of all to choose from). Vegetarian cafes have multiplied too. For shoppers, we've added more artsy gift shops and some real neat charity-linked boutiques. Craft beer lovers won't be bored, new well-stocked bars dotting the map.

The map includes detailed guides to the Night Bazaar and the backstreets of Warorot Market (Chiang Mai's Chinatown) as well as Greater Chiang Mai and the City Center. It is also accompanied by a 80 page directory to help guide you to all the city offers, including restaurant phone numbers and recommendations.

About the Author:
American artist Nancy Chandler began creating unique maps, cards and gifts celebrating life in Thailand when she moved there in the late 1960s with her young family. Her unique style is characterized by the use of bright colors, humourous comments and witty insights, and the ability to make sense out of chaos when creating detailed market maps. Legendary in Asia but a quiet, unassuming artist in Northern California where she spent the last years of her life, Nancy was never a 'commercial' artist, preferring to work only on projects she loved. Sadly, she passed away in 2015 after a short illness. Her daughter and business partner Nima, who has been updating information on the maps for 20 years, continues her small publishing business in Bangkok.
