This book includes new approaches of biological control of a very serious grasshopper that attack many field crops such as corn and many vegetables. The insect growth regulators used for control of this insect are safe to use as they are not harmful to human or domestic animals. They make the insect produce infertile or sterile eggs which do not hatch and die and even if hatched the embryo does not grow. The IGRs used are either similar to or antagonist to the self hormones produced by the insect. They don't affect the normal development of the insect, only the sex life of the insect without affecting the soil, plant host or the human health.
