About the Author:

Veena Sharma holds a Ph.D in African Studies. She was Head of the Swahili Service, External Services Division and All India Radio from 1979 to 2001. She has travelled extensively in Africa and other parts of the world, and is the author of the book Folk Tales of East Asia. Presently she is the Editor of Africa Quarterly, bought by the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations), and Chairperson, Prajna Foundation for Cultural Interaction and Studies. Besides her abiding interest in Africa, Veena Sharma is also interested in Vedanta.
