About the Author:
Carla Balzaretti was born in Argentina, one autumn day in 1978. Since a child was devoted to inventing stories even when not knowing how to write. She studied to bedome a teacher and worked for seven years as editor. She has published several books for young children.
After several years studying and working as a designer in her hometown Munich and Brussels, Sonja Wimmer decided to devote herself to illustration and traveled to Barcelona to continue her artistic training at the Llotja School of Design Art. Since then, she lives between brushes and stories, working as an illustrator and freelance for publishers and other customers worldwide. She has received many awards for her work in the United states, most notably Gold Medal for Best Illustrator for The Word Collector.
Carla Balzaretti nació en Argentina, un día de otoño (que allí es primavera) de 1978. Desde pequeña se dedicaba a inventar historias, aún cuando ni siquiera sabía escribir. Estudió Magisterio y desde hace diez años trabaja como editora de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil. Ha publicado varios libros destinados a niños de educación infantil.
Después de estudiar y trabajar varios años de diseñadora en su ciudad natal Munich y en Bruselas, Sonja Wimmer decidió dedicarse plenamente a la ilustración y viajar a Barcelona para continuar su formación artística en la Llotja, Escola Superior de Disseny i Art. Desde entonces, vive entre pinceles y cuentos, trabajando como ilustradora y escritora freelance para editoriales y otros clientes en todo el mundo. A lo largo de los últimos años varios de sus libros ilustrados para Cuento de Luz han sido premiados en Estados Unidos.
