A ideia de criar um diálogo entre elas obedece ao seguinte esquema: a equipe de curadores convida um artista com uma obra específica. O artista, por sua vez, escolhe duas outras obras de dois outros autores para estabelecer uma conexão (seja temática ou de influência). A este núcleo de três, os curadores acrescentam mais uma obra que reforce ou coloque em tensão a relação estabelecida anteriormente. Segundo o curador uruguaio Alejandro Cesarco, a metodologia ajuda a entender que "a produção e a leitura da arte se realizam a partir da arte mesma, desde seu próprio campo e história". O texto introdutório é apresentado em formato de conversa entre Cesarco e Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro, em que explicam o projeto e apresentam as obras incluídas.
