About the Author:

Marilu Suarez-Murias is from Caracas, Venezuela. She first came to Puerto Vallarta for three months in 1989 and she still lives here with her husband, her baby daughter, and her dog. Her emotional and narrative writing style enlivens the text, inviting you to learn more about The Magic of Puerto Vallarta. Her works have been published internationally, including two guidebooks in Spanish: The Guide for the California Globetrotter and The Guide for the Mexico Globetrotter. Her most recent book, Discover Puerto Vallarta, has had record sales in Mexico. Marilu has a Bachelors Degree in Communication from Universidad Catolica Andres Bello in Caracas, and a Masters Degree from American University in Washington, D.C.

John Welzenbach is one of the top advertising and location photographers in the U.S. Born in Port Huron, Michigan, he now lives in Chicago. His first visit to Vallarta was in 1986, and on each of his frequent subsequent trips he has been revealing the very soul of Vallarta with his outstanding photos. Professionally his clients include American Express, Wilson Sports, and Anheuser-Busch among many others. He is a national spokesperson for Kodak's digital photography products.

John Youden was born in Prince Ruppert, Canada. His company JGY ServiProfes publishes the magazine Puerto Vallarta Lifestyles and Yates y Villas de Mexico, an international bilingual magazine. As their principal photographer, he has taken thousands of photos capturing the character and essence of Vallarta as well as many other parts of Mexico.
