About this Item

Used Condition: about Fine
Warmly inscribed by the author: "To my very good friend and associate, Ernst Lampe. Cordial-ly yours, Dave Embury." A lovely just about Fine copy of the book with a ding to the front lower corner, otherwise clean and square. In a sharp, Very Good + dust jacket with a lightly faded spine and minor wear at the extremities. Embury at 62 years old and a senior tax partner at a prestigious Manhattan law firm, turned his interest in cocktails into one of the essential connoisseur reference guides. Now, along with Thomas' "Bar-Tender's Guide" and "The Savoy Cocktail Book" and a handful of others, this book is one of the most sought after mixology books, and one of the most difficult to find in the first edition. No copy appears in the auction record and we can find no copy of the first edition, with or without a jacket (let alone inscribed) on the market. about Fine in Very Good + dust jacket.
