About this Item: Printed at the "Japan Gazette" Office, Yokohama, Japan, 1882. Hardcover. Condition: Good. First Edition. l p. leaf, ii p, 1 leaf, 59, 10p. 11 [hand] colored mounted [albumen] photographs (including portraits) tables. A good copy, the leather spine is partial (lacking about two- and one-half inches from the bottom and nearly all of the of the spine is cracked at the backside and loose, except for the top one- and a quarter-inch which is attached, the tips of the forecorners are slightly rubbed and worn, the front marbled cover has a dime-sized scrape in the middle, some minor scapes near the top, the back marbled cover has a few small scrapes and soil marks and both covers have some wear along all edges. This is a tight copy and the pages, including the photographs are clean. It is inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper and reads: "With Compliments / of the Author / Yokohama / Japan June 1882." Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Seller Inventory # 010401
