Signed. The Royal Queen Elizabeth Miller was descended from slaves; she left Virginia for New Jersey and founded an orphanage for black children in Orange. This copy is signed by the author with a personal inscription.~~Some light stains to the boards and light foxing to the endpapers. But a sturdy and serviceable copy of an uncommon book(about an uncommon person). Very Good binding / Very Good dust jacket.
