One of 3 copies constituting a small "Author's Edition," each with with an original typed signed poem ("here") tipped in at center, this being copy no.3. Slim octavo (21.5cm); mimeographed sheets stapled into beige pictorial card wrappers illustrated by the author; [32]pp. Trivial wear to spine ends, tiny stain to rear wrapper; contents fresh; Near Fine. Laid into this copy is an original, contemporary black & white photo of the author (measuring 4" x 4 1/8"), seated and smoking a cigarette outdoors (location unknown); Near Fine. Together with Bukowski's January 10, 1972 telephone bill from Pacific Bell. A humorous, early foray into prose, chronicling (in painful detail) the account of the author's hemorrhoid operation and hospitalization, which kept him away from work for several months. The poem "here" was published in the February, 1971 issue of Invisible City, and remains uncollected otherwise. Uncommon. Debritto A22; Krumhansl 23.
