Single issue of The Physical Review, Volume 70, Numbers 9 and 10. Owned by Los Alamos scientist James H. Coon, with his ownership signature on front cover, and his notes on the articles below. In this particular issue Coon had two articles published, "Angular Distribution of 2.5-Mev Neutrons Scattered by Deuterium", and "Elastic Backscattering of d-d Neutrons". Coon was a member of the Manhattan Project, working first at the University of Chicago's Metallurgical Laboratory before transferring to Los Alamos, where he helped calibrate instruments for the 100-ton TNT test and the Trinity test. He remained at Los Alamos after the war, and in 1954 he was P-4 group leader along with P-6 group leader Elizabeth Riddle Graves at Los Alamos. This well-worn issue was clearly Coon's working copy while at Los Alamos. It also contains Eugene Wigner's "Resonance Reactions".
