FIRST UK EDITION. SIGNED & INSCRIBED BY THE AUTHOR IN THE YEAR OF PUBLICATION TOGETHER WITH A LETTER FROM THE AUTHOR TO THE RECIPIENT. Publisher's original, multi-coloured decorative boards (matching the D/W). A couple of minor bumps to the boards otherwise a near fine copy. Signed and inscribed presentation copy by BB to the half-title page; ''To Colleen from BB with love Christmas 1967'', the recipient being Colleen Duxbury, who as a young girl read and was enchanted by 'The Little Grey Men'. She eventually wrote to the author requesting a photograph, BB replied and their correspondence developed into friendship which culminated in Colleen going to stay with Watkins-Pitchford and his wife at the Round House. Together with an Autograph Letter Signed (ALS) by BB to Colleen dated 10/12/67 on The Round House, Sudborough, headed paper, loosely inserted. The RARE D/W is priced 9s 6d net to the inside flap (as called for) and is in VG+ condition with the merest hint of rubbing to the extremities (hardly worth mentioning). A wonderful signed Association Copy of a very scarce Bill Badger title widely perceived to be the scarcest of the Bill Badger Books. Also included is an un-dated Catalogue from McEwan Fine Books of Aberdeenshire which originally listed this book for sale. Photographs/scans available upon request.
