New York: Twayne Publishers, Inc., 1949. First Edition, first printing. Octavo (22.5cm); 72pp. Publisher's red cloth with title in gilt. Original printed dust jacket with $2.50 price intact. Jacket toned with light rubbing to edges, small chip to crown of spine. Dampstaining to rear free endpaper and occasionally to upper margin of pages, but not affecting text. Pages unmarked. Binding sound. A very good copy in like jacket. Signed inscription on front free endpaper: "Review Copy for Newsweek with compliments, Merrill Moore, Boston 1950." This book was later printed with illustrations by Edward Gorey.
