About this title

Explaining the art of developing a rich, rewarding social life, the author offers hundreds of suggestions for meeting people and conversing with ease with anyone

From Library Journal:

While Letitia Baldrige's Complete Guide to Executive Manners ( LJ 10/1/85) dealt with the business world, this volume focuses on the social one. Baldrige suggests ways to meet people, make conversation, improve one's appearance, entertain, make friends at work, date, and recover from a spouse's death or a divorce. She has many good ideas, lots of anecdotes, and a sense of humor. Readers are likely to find her approach refreshing, although the chapter on entertaining is at times off-putting. (Baldrige seats guests at a dinner according to their "importance.") Despite this quibble, the sensible advice and relaxed tone make this a worthwhile purchase. Wendy Allex, Lee Cty. Lib. System, Ft. Myers, Fla.
