Rawlings Official League Baseball signed by Atlanta Braves Dale Murphy. Boldly signed in full on the sweet spot in blue ballpoint, "Dale Murphy N.L. M.V.P. 82, 83." In fine condition. Housed in a custom acrylic display case. Dale Murphy (born 1956) was a cornerstone of the Atlanta Braves during the 1980s and one of the eraâ s premier all-around players, renowned for his power, defense, and durability. A two-time National League Most Valuable Player (1982, 1983), Murphy was a seven-time All-Star and a multiple Gold Glove and Silver Slugger winner, excelling as a center fielder while anchoring the Bravesâ offense during a period of renewed competitiveness. He twice led the National League in home runs and was widely admired for combining elite performance with consistency, famously playing 740 consecutive games at one point. Although he did not win a World Series championship with Atlanta, Murphyâ s statistical production, leadership, and sportsmanship established him as one of the franchiseâ s defining figures and a lasting symbol of Braves baseball in the pre-1990s era.
