First Printing, one of 17,500 copies. Octavo (24cm); black cloth and paper-covered boards, with titles stamped in pink on spine; dustjacket; [8],9-395,[5]pp; illus. Inscribed by the author on the front endpaper in the year of publication: "To Donald / Om Sivaya!! / Timothy Leary / July 4, 83." Light wear to extremities, some very faint foxing to text edges, though clean internally; Near Fine. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $15.95), showing modest wear, some crinkling at spine ends, and a few vertical and diagonal creases to flaps; Very Good+. Leary's first full-length autobiography, "embellished with photographs, mostly unpublished, from various periods of his life, depicting other family members and important associates and events.This book generated controversy before it was published because of threatened legal suits, including one by the CIA; certain names and affiliations had to be deleted, resulting in a several-months delay in publication" (Horowitz, et al., p.81).
