First edition, being one of 25 copies thus bound, signed by the Editor and by Sir Antony Reid on the half-title page. *Born about 1785, Hennell joined Wellington's army in the Peninsula as a volunteer and served through the campaigns of 1812-13. His letters home (most previously unpublished), provide a detailed account of everyday life in the field and camp.
