The first American edition, this is copy #177 of 300 signed by Janwillem Van de Watering, who wrote the postscript. Self-published in Malaysia in 1964, and not since or otherwise until this edition, this is the only murder mystery with a modern day setting known to have been written by the author of the legendary Judge Dee mysteries. The errata slip is laid in. Small octavo. Original red cloth binding, with gilt titles. A fine copy in a nearly fine dust jacket with some very mild sun fading along the spine.
