First Edition - Limited to 5000 copies of which 500 are numbered and autographed; this is number 85. Inscribed and signed by Smith to Joseph Schaller on the limitation page. First edition [stated] in blue cloth boards with gilt stamped spine. Jacket design, frontispiece and chapter heads by Ric Binkley. Reading PA: Fantasy Press (1950), 273 pages. Nearly Fine copy with small puncture in front board that created an indenture on pastedown and preliminary pages. Minor toning to end papers. Neatly applied bookplate on front paste down and ownership inscription on f.f.e ; both from the original subscriber, Joseph Schaller. Very Fine sharp un-clipped [$3.00] jacket. In protective mylar cover.
