This particular Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets was signed following a small dinner (around 10?15 people) in San Francisco, California to celebrate the book's release in 1999. The book was gifted to the original recipient?s daughter, who kept it until 2022. An accompanying note from the daughter details the dinner her mother attended. First printing, authentically signed copies of the US edition are hard to come by and are rarer than first printing copies of the US edition of Prisoner of Azkaban.
In pristine condition, this book has no flaws and is unread, tight, and square with no toning or foxing to the text block and very fresh, white pages. Internally, it is entirely clean with no marks or ownership names. The corners are sharp, and the spine tip and base are free of bruising, which is extremely rare to find. The dust jacket is a first state jacket in pristine condition, without the number 2 on the spine, and priced correctly at $17.95. It is not price-clipped, and the spine has no fading. The book comes housed in a red clamshell box made specifically for this edition, with the title and author?s name printed in gold leaf on the spine.
This first printing copy is fully authenticated by Adam Houston, theHarryPotterspecialist, the world?s leading expert in authenticating J.K. Rowling?s signature. The book comes with a full authentication package, including a letter of authenticity, collector card, and provenance. Seller Inventory # 114
The summer after his first year at Hogwarts is worse than ever for Harry Potter. The Dursleys of Privet Drive are more horrible to him than ever before. And just when he thinks the endless summer vacation is over, a creature named Dobby the house-elf shows up issuing a grave warning to Harry not to go back to school or disaster will happen! Of course, Harry has to go back- and he does so in grand style, in a flying-car magicked by his friends Ron and Percy Weasley. But getting back to Hogwarts isn't the cure Harry expects it to be. Almost immediately a student is found turned to stone, and then another. And somehow Harry stands accused. Could Harry Potter be the long-feared heir of Slytherin?Harry and friends Hermione and Fred are stretched to their limits in a desperate fight against Draco Malfoy and his gang, the hideously stuck-up new professor Gilderoy Lockheart, the malevolent owner of the diary of Tom Riddle, giant spiders, and perhaps even...Hagrid!This is the book that proves J.K. Rowling is a talent that's here to stay!
