William Maxwell's very scarce first children's book. The book is NEAR FINE+ with only the slightest of rubbing at spine extremities. Decorated boards are beautiful and bright! Amazing drawings by fellow New Yorker magazine colleague Ilonka Karasz. Contents clean and bright with no writing in the book besides William Maxwell's signature and inscription and another short owner inscription. GORGEOUS! The dust jacket is VERY GOOD+ with chipping at top and with back panel separated from spine but complete and held together perfectly with dust jacket protector. $2.00 price present and bright on inside flap.
