(Butterfield, 1870-1955, was a professor of mathematics and mechanics in the Engineering Department of the University of Vermont.) Includes a bibliography. Clothbound hardcover. Meausres about 9 by 6 inches. Maroon cloth, gilt spine lettering. VG condition. Modest external wear. Some browning of the signed page and endpapers. Sound binding. Not a fragile old book. Still quite sturdy for reading or reference after more than 100 years. Protected by a new clear archival dust jacket. An uncommon book, especially signed.
