The book is brand new and nearly pristine: it is square, spotlessly clean, free of corner bumps and edge dings; head of spine has a tiny bump at the front gutter ridge; hinges are very tight and not damaged in any fashion. The interior is completely free of writing, stray marks, stains of any sort and page damage of any type. Paper is very flexible. No distortion of the book from reading or improper shelving; pages are tight and clean with no marks. Jacket is also brand new and pristine: it is clean; no tears, folds, or fading; no bumps on edges; slightly indented letters of the author's name and title on the front panel are evident (they have not been crushed); publisher's original price of "U.S.A. $28.00 / Canada $37.99" printed at the top edge of the front flap; front panel has a 1-1/2" circular black-on-gold "Signed First / Edition" sticker just above the title and near the fore edge; rear panel has a 2-1/4" x 1" black-on-white store sticker (author, title, price, ISBN number & bar code) at the middle of the rear panel near the bottom edge. Dust jacket is now in protective mylar cover. Condition of book and jacket consistent with being brand new and not read. No other discernible or objectionable faults on book or jacket such as marks or writing within, stains, tears, chips, or other damage that would diminish its appearance. No remainder mark, no previous owner markings or inscriptions, not price clipped, not a book club edition, not a former library book.
